Sea turtles of the Coral Triangle
Conservation International, Australia
We work with local communities in the "Coral Triangle" region and teach them how to protect their marine resources. Our focus for this project is sea turtles. Satellite transmitters are used to track the inter-nesting movements and post-nesting migratory pathways of female green (Chelonia mydas) and hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata) sea turtles. We hope to discover the end-destinations of the animals so we can protect them more effectively.
